The National University & Middle School Student 9th Marine Culture Design Contest sponsored by China Oceanic Development Foundation, Publicity and Education Center of Ministry of Natural Resources, Ocean University of China and North China Sea Branch of Ministry of Natural Resources, has ended successfully. On October 24th, the award ceremony of the contest was held in Guangxi Beibu Gulf University. More than 200 people attended the ceremony, including Secretary-General Pan Xinchun and Deputy Secretary-General Xiang Youquan of China Oceanic Development Foundation, Zhao Jiqing, Deputy Director of Publicity and Education Center of Ministry of Natural Resources, Lu Feng, Vice Mayor of Qinzhou Municipal People's Government, Zhao Jun, Party Secretary of Beibu Gulf University, Wang Hui, Secretary-General of CNOOC Marine Environment and Ecological Protection Public Welfare Foundation, and other relevant leaders, as well as the contest judges and representatives of the winning teachers and students. The National University & Middle School Student Marine Culture Design Contest is one of the series activities of "World Ocean Day & National Ocean Publicity Day" and is the only public welfare contest with the theme of marine culture creativity in the world. The contest is held once a year and has been successfully held for nine times, with wide influence home and abroad. The theme of this contest this year is "Resources and Oceans", and its works cover five fields, including graphic design, landscape design, product design, media animation and marketing planning. More than 990 schools and universities have participated in the competition with 61,568 entries received. 5483 finalists have been selected in the preliminary examination. After the final examination, a total of 460 winning works have been selected, among which 420 in university groups (8 Gold Prizes, 21 Silver Prizes, 50 Bronze Prizes and 341 Excellent Awards); 40 in middle schools (2 Silver Prizes, 6 Bronze Prizes and 32 Excellent Awards).
