On September 19th, the 4th National Clean Beach Public Welfare Activity in 2020 on the theme of "Protecting the beautiful coastline, we’re working together" sponsored by China Oceanic Development Foundation (the "Foundation") was carried out in 27 coastal cities of China. More than 300 related units have participated in the organization of the activity, with more than 10,000 volunteers participating in the activity, and nearly 150 media following the report, which fully demonstrates the vitality and vigor, passion and charm of marine public welfare activities. The beach cleanup public welfare teams are growing into the beautiful landscape in the public welfare field and a new force to promote the construction of marine ecological civilization.

Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization Construction, the 4th National Clean Beach Public Welfare Activity in 2020 is an active action to unswervingly implement the national marine ecological civilization construction policy, a portrayal of the behavior of the majority sea-loving public welfare forces who fear and respect nature, protect and love the ocean, and a sincere spiritual call of marine volunteers to the society of "protecting the beautiful coastline and acting together".

This activityreceived strong support from relevant departments of coastal governments at all levels. Four local marine public welfare organizations specifically undertook beach cleanup public welfare activities in four main venues in Qingdao, Wenzhou, Fuzhou and Shenzhen. Twenty-four local marine public welfare organizations undertook activities in 23 branch venues in Panjin, Jinzhou, Huludao, Yingkou, Dalian, Qinhuangdao, Tangshan, Tianjin, Dongying, Weifang, Weihai, Rizhao, Yantai, Binzhou, Lianyungang, Qidong, Shanghai, Ningbo, Huizhou, Beihai, Sanya, Wenchang and Sansha.

The main venue in Wenzhou was co-sponsored by the Foundation and Cangnan County People's Government and undertaken by Green Zhejiang and other units. The event was divided into two sessions in the morning and afternoon. In the morning, a marine theme forum was held in Cangnan County People's Government; and in the afternoon, a beach cleanup ceremony was held in Yuliao Beach. The Specifications provide a complete classification of the types and kinds of common beach garbage and a reasonable allocation of beach cleanup team members according to the environment and area of beaches, which scientifically divides the work in terms of the needs of tasks and records the beach cleanup situation in detail through the Beach Garbage Monitoring Record Form. The release and implementation of the Specifications provide a strong technical support for further building of a professional team of beach cleanup public welfare activity.
