On December 28, 2019, the China Oceanic Development Foundation held the ninth meeting of the first council in Beijing. A total of 31 directors, supervisors and related representatives of the Foundation attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by the Foundation Secretary-General Comrade Pan Xinchun. The meeting heard and reviewed the work report of Comrade Lv Bin, the deputy president of the Foundation, commissioned by President Sun Zhihui, and reviewed the fund trust investment proposal of the foundation.

In the work report, the Deputy President Lv Bin comprehensively summarized the work achievements of the Foundation since 2019, and proposed deployment and arrangements for 2020 work. He pointed out that in 2019, under the guidance of Xi Jinping's new era of socialist ideas with Chinese characteristics, under the guidance of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and with the strong support of various directors and supervisors, the Foundation has thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, closely focused on the new requirements and deployment of the construction of a marine power and the management of natural resources, and focused on serving the strategic goal of building a community of marine destiny. A lot of work has been done in global marine governance, blue economic development, and marine ecological civilization construction, and new achievements have been made in various tasks.

The Deputy President Lv Bin made a work report

The Deputy President Lv Bin analyzed the current situation in the work report and put forward the main tasks in the future. He pointed out in his speech that the main tasks of the Foundation in the future period of time should be planned from four aspects: striving to build a community of marine destiny, promoting blue economy and industrial development, strengthening the construction of marine ecological civilization, and deepening the modernization of marine governance capabilities.

The Secretary-General Pan Xinchun pointed out in his concluding speech that all staff of the Foundation Secretariat should give full play to initiative, enthusiasm and innovation, and closely focus on the foundation's work deployment and development plan in 2020, and carefully plan, pay close attention to implementation and contribution.

At the meeting, the directors, supervisors and representatives fully affirmed the work achievements of the Foundation in 2019 and put forward many constructive opinions on the development of the Foundation in 2020. The participants stated that the foundation should use the General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on building a maritime power as a guide, work hard to plan a new chapter in the marine cause, continue to create a new situation for the Foundation, submit a satisfactory answer for the year of building a well-off society, and make new and greater contributions to speeding up the construction of a maritime power!
