On August 28, 2019, the China Oceanic Development Foundation held the eighth meeting of the first council in Beijing. A total of 28 councilors, supervisors and related representatives of the Foundation attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Pan Xinchun, assistant and secretary general of the Foundation. The meeting listened to and reviewed the report made by Comrade Sun Zhihui, the Chairman of the Foundation, on the work situation in the first half of 2019 and the work arrangement in the second half of 2019. Comrade Lv Bin, the Vice Chairman of the Foundation, made a concluding speech.

In his work report, the Chairman Sun Zhihui comprehensively summarized the work achievements of the first half of 2019 made by the Foundation, and made arrangements for the work in the second half of the year. He pointed out that in 2019, under the guidance of Xi Jinping's new era of socialist ideas with Chinese characteristics, under the leadership of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and with the strong support of various governing units, the foundation according to its own characteristics and advantages, has made accurate efforts and taken the initiative to effectively gather forces from all parties, and all work has achieved substantial progress and fruitful results.
