China Oceanic Development Foundation donates marine library in five schools in Xinjiang

On July 10 and 13, 2019, China Oceanic Development Foundation, and Shenzhen Yantian Port Group and China Huaneng Group respectively held the Unveiling ceremony of the Ocean Library in Kashgar city and Akhqi County, Kizilsu, Kirgiz Autonomous prefecture, including Shenta Middle School, Kashgar Special Economic Zone Senior Middle School, Kashgar Eighteenth Elementary School, Taheman Township Primary School and Huaneng Tuohe Primary School, which is a major initiative of the China Oceanic Development Foundation to promote education in the "three regions and three states" to help the poor, and it is also a vivid practice of the theme of "not forgetting the original intention and remembering the mission". The Deputy President of China Oceanic Development Foundation Lv Bin, the Deputy Secretary-General Xiang Youquan, the Party Secretary and Chairman of Yantian Port Group Sun Bo, the Chief Commander of Shenzhen Aid Xinjiang Front Command  Yang Chunsheng , the Director of Planning and Development Department of China Huaneng Group Wang Kui, and local leaders and representatives of teachers and students from both places attended the ceremony.

The Deputy President Lv Bin expected in his speech that the local education authorities and schools can work together to promote the effective integration of marine knowledge into classroom teaching, and to mobilize teachers' enthusiasm for marine classrooms by introducing practical measures. He hoped that the school will actively promote various marine activities to fully integrate into the campus culture, organize and carry out youth activities such as painting, essay writing, speech contests, posters, theme class meetings, cultural performances, and forming interest groups, etc, increasing fun and appeal and Focusing on developing students' hobbies and specialties related to the ocean. In order to encourage everyone to read more marine books, understand the marine world, and explore the mysteries of the ocean, through the marine knowledge competition, the schools will reward those students, teachers and principals who have learned marine knowledge effectively, such as participating in summer camps, winter camps, Experience camps, teacher training classes, and international events.
