On October 19, 2017, the Ocean Library Book Donation Ceremony and the "National Marine Awareness Education Base" Awarding Ceremony were held at Jinggangshan Middle School. The Secretary General Pan Xinchun donated books worth 200,000 yuan to Jinggangshan Middle School on behalf of China Oceanic Development Foundation. Wang Zhong, the deputy director of the Propaganda and Education Center of the State Oceanic Administration, read the decision to grant the title of "National Marine Awareness Education Base" to Jinggangshan Middle School, and unveiled the base with the School Principals Xie Jianguo.

The Deputy President of the Foundation Lv Bin delivered a speech at the ceremony. He hoped that Jinggangshan Middle School would take this building of the "Marine Library" and the Licensing of "National Marine Awareness Education Base" as an opportunity to comprehensively promote marine basic knowledge education and to achieve the goal of marine knowledge “into teaching materials, into classrooms, and into campus”. The Mayor of Jinggangshan City Jiao Xuejun said at the ceremony that The China Oceanic Development Foundation donated the “Marine Library” and set up a “National Marine Awareness Education Base” this time, which has a positive role in promoting children ’s horizons, understanding marine knowledge, enhancing marine awareness, and promoting quality education. The education department of Jinggangshan City will give full play to the role of "Marine Library" and marine awareness education base, strengthen marine awareness education, popularize marine knowledge, and spread marine culture, and use this as an opportunity to guide students to develop good habits of reading and learning, comprehensively improve students' reading and knowledge, help students broaden their hobbies, cultivate a group of outstanding students with excellent academic performance, and actively transport talent for Construction of a marine power.
