To promote the rational development and utilization of resources in the Taiwan Strait and strengthen the protection and restoration of marine ecology, in March 2018, under the joint initiative of Fujian Marine Economic Operation Monitoring and Evaluation Center and Fujian Provincial Department of Ocean and Fisheries with the assistance from the World Bank Loan Project Management Office, the Foundation has established the Strait Resources Protection and Development Special Fund in Fuzhou. Raising funds through corporate donations and other means, this Special Fund has specially invested in the ecological restoration of Dayu Island.
